We walk quite a lot around the beacon area. In reality there is quite a bit more green on the way to the top. In spring it is beautiful with all the delicate wild flowers . I loved the white chalk of the hill - so did the bit I loved and made more of the grassy area chalky white . Scratching through the paint reveals some of the original under colours. Ivinghoe is so rich on archaeological history I thought revealing some of this paintings own history was apt.
